Diwali is the biggest festival in India, the equivalent of Chinese Spring Festival.
The Hindu festival of lights (diwali in Hindi) is celebrated every year between October and November, when the moon is not visible in August.It was a day of light and love, a time of joy for Indian all over the world.The stifling heat fades, and the most pleasant season of the year approaches.Businessmen are used to changing their books on this day, in order to open the market and make lots of money.
Therefore, some Indian call it their New Year.Diwali literally means "a row of lights."

The festival was celebrated for half a month.During this time, parks, temples, commercial centers, squares are decorated like fairyland, and cultural programs are colorful and fascinating.The park is crowded with people.Teams of bands in gold boat hats and glitter outfits sat cross-legged on the makeshift towers, playing melodious music.Lanterns, candles, fireworks, and holiday gifts are sold everywhere.Local food vendors have been busy.There are also tents set up by fortune-tellers and witches.Various entertainment programs, such as dancing, elephant riding, snake playing, bear playing and game, make people dazzle.Three times a night, fireworks were set off at regular intervals. One of them was tied to a few high poles, and the sparks flew back and forth.
